The Facts

This sacred flower is commonly used in devotional ceremonies and to make cooling summer beverages. It helps purify the body both physically and spiritually, and is useful in disorders associated with the first and second chakra. Hibiscus also supports the proper function of the kidneys and healthy hair growth. Add it to your favorite smoothie or tea for a refreshing boost!

Improves Digestion
Hibiscus is a mild diuretic, which eases constipation and regulates bowel movement. It also prevents colorectal cancer by keeping the gastrointestinal system healthy.

Promotes Weight Loss
Hibiscus lowers the absorption of glucose and starch from carbohydrate rich foods. So, it helps in maintaining a healthy weight.

Prevents Anaemia
As hibiscus is high in iron, it increases the haemoglobin level in the body. This can prevent and even help in curing Anaemia.

Cures Menstrual Pain
Hibiscus powder can cure menstrual pain by balancing hormones within the body. Its anti-depressant nature can also control menstrual symptoms like mood-swings and anxiety.

Not just beige, but beige and flavorless. The color is not red, which I expected, not only because that's the color of every other hibiscus product I have had, but the photo used on the product page shows it as a deep red. There's a lot of claims on the side of the package of what it "may" or "could" do. The product page says right in the headline that it ia "rich in vitamin C", yet it doesn't appear at all in the nutritional facts.

It does not mix well as a cold or hot drink. I was able to make it work in my french press, but the product was disappointing. The flavor was toned down. It does not compare to other hibiscus products I have had. I'm really disappointed, because the whole purpose I got this for was to drink. I suppose this could be pretty easily incorporated into smoothies, and apparently you can bake with it, which is interesting. I may try, because I don't know what else to use this for.

I’m a fan of hibiscus. I’ve ordered and bought it from different places. However, I’m new to hibiscus powder and decided to give it a try. I only rated this two stars for a couple of reasons. First off, (not sure if this is important) I was concerned the powder was a different color than the actual red hibiscus flower; I’m used to seeing the hibiscus tea or packets red (I’ve bought a lot of hibiscus before). Even the actual picture shows the powder red. Second, the flavor of hibiscus is tart; this powder does NOT taste anything like what I’m used to. I kept thinking if I may have missed something. The product just tasted like plain dry powder (dirt/root/strange like flavor). Overall, don’t like the product. Very disappointed.

Additional (IMPORTANT) Info: For those who want to know…when you use the barcode on the pack it takes you to more information on the product. Furthermore, it provides a WARNING saying (This product can expose you to chemicals including lead and cadmium which are known to the state of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm).

The first thing I noticed is the color. It's actually more of a beige, despite the product image being more of a red/maroon.
I got this with the intention of dusting it on top of some macarons for decoration and additional flavor, but the actual color would not really work for the look I wanted. However, I added it into the batter for the shells, and it worked ok for that, but wasn't especially noticeable in the finished product. I also added it to my hot tea and found that it dampened a usually-flavorful Earl Gray. Not necessarily in a bad way, just that everything was kind of muted. It was still smooth and even almost creamy. As the tea cooled it was better balanced and I could taste more of the hibiscus, though still muted all around.
I made another cup of tea using just the powder and some honey. Again, the flavor was muted when
it was hot, but came back out as it cooled down some. The purely hibiscus tea is pretty nice at least, definitely floral, and the honey enhanced that profile.
I tried it in iced tea as well and you can definitely taste it more when it's cold. It's decent, but again, seems to mute the other flavors. Hot or cold, it does not want to dissolve either.
It smells good though, but I am not sure if I'll really get around to using it much more after these lackluster initial results. It's been mediocre for the purposes I got it for.
I can't speak to the other claims listed hair, skin and what-not. I also thought it was kind of odd that it's advertised as a hair and skin item, but also has nutrition facts and recipes on the package; I guess it's multi-use, just not for me.

I don’t like hibiscus tea but I want the benefits of hibiscus so this powder is a great alternative. The powder is fine. It does not blend with water but goes well in smoothies etc. It tastes like earth to me - so don’t expect a floral taste or smell. You get a good amount in the bag and it tastes very fresh. Organic. I would recommend.

While they suggest using this powder for a facial mask or hair conditioner, it’s often consumed for a healthful tea. It contains antioxidants and nutrients that offer potential health benefits. I consume hibiscus tea to help keep my blood pressure within ‘normal’ range. It’s a pleasant tea, enjoyable either hot or cold. It also works well in smoothies.
You can add the hibiscus powder to baked goods, too. This will impart red coloring with a nutritional boost. I stirred some into an oatmeal raisin cookie recipe, creating a red tint cookie. It added some flavor notes, but the red coloring added some festivity to the cookies. (The label shows a beige powder, the powder is actually a rust/reddish hue.)
I’m happy with this hibiscus powder, and feel it delivers a quality product (USDA Organic!!!). It warrants a 4.5 - 4.75 star rating, with a very high level recommendation.
